About these terms

These terms apply to the services provided by JSR Tiling Ltd ("JSR Tiling", "we", "us", "our") to our clients ("you", "your"). By engaging us — whether by signing a quote, paying a deposit, or instructing us to begin work — you agree to these terms unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

Quotes

Quotes are provided on the basis of the information available at the time of quoting and any site visit completed. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

Where additional work is required that was not visible or known at the time of quoting (for example, hidden substrate damage, additional waterproofing, or scope changes), we will discuss the variation with you before proceeding.

Scope of work

Our scope is as set out in the written quote. We will deliver the work described to a tradesman-like standard, using materials suitable for the application and in line with manufacturer specifications and the relevant New Zealand Building Code requirements where applicable.

Where you supply materials (for example, tiles), we will install them with care, but cannot warrant the suitability or quality of materials we did not supply.

Payments

Payment terms are set out in your quote. For most projects, a deposit is payable before work begins, and the balance is payable on completion. For larger projects, we may agree progress payments at defined stages.

Invoices are payable by the due date stated on the invoice. Overdue accounts may incur reasonable recovery costs.

Variations

Any changes to the agreed scope of work — whether requested by you, your designer, or your main contractor, or required by unforeseen site conditions — will be discussed and confirmed before being carried out. Variations will be invoiced separately or added to the final invoice.

Workmanship

We stand behind our workmanship. We aim to deliver every project to the standard we would want in our own homes. If you have a concern about workmanship after completion, please let us know promptly and we will assess and address it.

Our workmanship guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, accident, settlement movement, water ingress from unrelated sources, or work performed by others.

Health, safety, and site access

JSR Tiling is a Site Safe member and complies with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. You agree to provide reasonable site access during agreed working hours and to advise us of any site-specific hazards, services, or restrictions we should be aware of.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any single project is limited to the value of the work performed under the relevant quote.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies.

Cancellation

If you cancel a confirmed project before work begins, deposits already paid may be retained to cover scheduling and material ordering costs, on a reasonable basis. If work has commenced, you will be invoiced for work and materials supplied to the point of cancellation.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any dispute arising from work we have completed will be dealt with in the New Zealand courts.
